I bought one of these yesterday in the candle section at Dollar Tree. They're super cool for just $1! There has got to be some awesome props that we can build with these. (I love Halloween stuff that lights up)

They need 3 AA batteries, and the light is a color-changing LED.

Great find and for a $1 you can't beat it! May I ask the approximate size? I see you're in San Diego. I actually work in San Diego - which Dollar Tree?

I don't have it with me right now. I would guess that it's about 2" X 2" square. I was at the Murphy Canyon store. They're on a low shelf in the candle aisle.

I use these to light my haunted cabinet with potion bottles, body parts in jars, etc... I hacked mine though so I dont need to use batteries anymore. I use a 4.5v DC power adapter I found laying around in the garage. It looks great when they change color from the undersides.

You can also use them to spotlight an outdoor or indoor prop! They are very bright!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

These lights were at Dollar Tree last year. I remember seeing them in the store and know there were a few posting about them here last year as well. I think some people used them under potion bottles and mad lab jars to uplight the props. Probably more ideas were posted back then beyond what I can remember.

Hey, ter_ran that sounds really cool! Any chance you might do a how-to on hacking them for a power adapter instead of batteries?
    Thanks!

Thanks for posting this! I picked one up the other day and tried it out on a plaster bust and a skeleton prop. Looked really cool with the color changing led
