NEED IDEAS- Ivy climbing up house for abandoned house look

I'm doing the cemetery/ Haunted House theme this year and have been trying to think of a way to make my house look more haunted/ abandoned. I've made the boarded windows, broken glass windows, ghost in window.
But was thinking of making Ivy climb up a corner of my house. I have some fake ivy, but i know sunlight will eventaully fade it out or turn it blue. Was thinking about painting the fake Ivy if I can't find another way to do this. Other than using real ivy (which I plan to do next year) I don't have a solution for making a LOT of real, believable looking ivy. Has anyone ever done this or do you have any ideas? Thanx in advance.

want the Ivy to look like this, but not to that extreme:

Fake ivy would be your best bet if you need lots of it. Hand making and wrapping hundreds or thousands of leaves would be very time consuming. There are also projectors that might have green leaf patterns that could accentuate the leaves.

To preserve the color, you could spray the fake ivy with a matte shelac or maybe Scotch Guard (never tried that one, but it came to mind).

I have a ton of the ivy-like fall color silk stuff from Hobby Lobby. I have had one of my decommissioned props with it out in the sun since last fall and all this summer with no real noticable fading at all.

I would be interested in this as well. Has anyone done this before with the fake ivy and have any pics to share of the effect?

Fake ivy linked with small 4" black zip ties is most likely your best bet. It is easy to manage and can be easily be washed down before putting up for storage. Best of luck to you!
A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..

Scotch Guard does stop fading for several years...I learned this in one of my gardening groups for the cheaters who can only grow artificial...
