My normal theme is Pirates. This year I was thinking of doing a tribute to the Goonies. This is a survery of sorts of people's favorite scenes from the movie and what I should incorporate into my yard haunt.
To start off, I'm of course going to do a One-Eyed Willie Table with the "rich stuff" as they say in the movie on my porch. I was thinking that along the sidewalk I would build a tunnel of sorts with some booby traps. One of my friends suggested a wishing well. I was thinking maybe an organ (non-functional).
Suggestions of how to build anything is always helpful.
Thanks.

you should definately create a waterslide that TOTs take to get to your table of rich stuff! JK but I think the pirate ship scene is the key.. Maybe make a big manaquin in a superman shirt with a pirate hat on with some smaller manaquines dressed as kids to tie it all together

I agree with Hyprosick, the ship is the key. If you can find some way to incorporate the DATA kid, with all the cool inventions as well as that big deformed guy Sloth! I can picture Sloth swinging from a rope over the kids head with the Goonies theme music in the background.
I love the screaming!

I want to come! It would be great if you could get Tons & Tons of the Chocolate Gold Coins to be able to give them out in handfuls

My next door neighbor does not take care of his house, at all, but he's a nice guy and has offered to let me use his yard as well. I was thinking of keeping it simple and making it into the Lighthouse café and setting up some Fratelli look likes. I thought the tunnel over the sidewalk would bring the two together.
I am trying to recruit my friends to dress up like the goonies. I have an andy and a mouth so far.

Oh, I'm a huge fan of the Organ scene. Gotta have the organ. And I second "one Eyed Willie and his rich stuff".
Ok, and here are a few quintessential scenes in my opinion (most have been mentioned, some may be difficult).
1. Truffle Shuffle
2. Sloth tied up or Coming down the mast of the ship
3. Organ scene
4. Water slide down to ship
5. Chester copper pot and falling boulder traps
6. Skeleton key and data falling into booby trap (saved by the pinchers of power??)
7. Bottom of wishing well.
8. Willie and the table of rich stuff.
9. Ship
10. marble bag full of gems. (maybe this could be candy they get when done with haunt???)
11. Oh, and bike riding, with Brad in the car. (though, probably not at all relevant for yard haunt)._________
"You're incredibly bonkers...but all the best people are"
"Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company."
"Jesus started the zombie movement."

But make sure when the kids are grabbing them off the table that you have a scale covered in coins and when the TOTs reach for it ...you quickly grab their arm and say "Except that...thats Willies! Leave that for Willie...anything else goes!" Setup a recorder to have a 2 minute dead air then "HEEEEYYYYYY YOOOOUUU GUUUUUYYSSSS" LOL

[QUOTE=SKAustin;877261]My favorite scene has always been when they come upon Chester Copperpot crushed beneath the rock (trap).
its hilarious that there are still maggots on him in the movie...
