Well, here they are. These guys are the result of many different sources of information, and inspiration (mostly Pumpkinrot, and Stolloween), and are my first attempt at papier mache. I have three more in the works, and will post pics as soon as they are done.
The first one I call "The Runt". Since I had never done papier mache before, or made a skeleton out of PVC, newspaper, wire, and duct tape, I wanted to pick one to start with for every step in the process. That way, hopefully, I would make all of my mistakes on one prop (which I did!), and the others would benefit.
This is "The Reacher"
This is "Lefty". After I built the frames, I noticed that he was almost a mirror image of "The Runt". I guess I'll have to put them on opposite sides of the cemetery.
This was such a fun project, and a great learning experience. At first, I found papier mache to be extremely frustrating, but after figuring out that I had mixed my paste too thick, and learning to be patient while applying the strips, it was really fun, and rewarding! I can't wait to start my next project.
