So it sorta falls under Props so thats why im posting here, Mods if it belongs somewhere else please move.

So i have an airbrush but i do not have a compressor for it yet, for those that may do your own airbrushing does the compressor really matter or are there any suggestions on inexpensive ones or is shelling out money for the compressor worth it. Any thoughts would be appreciated

depending on how huch airbrushing you are doing you'll have to go from there if you are just doing smaller projects then a afordable 2 gallon tank is all you would need, this is a good size tank for most prop needs and reasonably affordable most under $100, however as you grow so will your needs , pnumatic props for instance will need a bigger tank to hold more air and so will using different type sprayers such as automotive type guns

you can run your airbrush on a big compressor make sure you have a regulator on the line to controll the air pressure airbrush presure should be about 35 psi or so but you can run higher pressure through it if you want look at the specks on your airbrush as each one is different

Yes you can . I have a 17 gal oilless compressor I use for pneumatics. I asked that very question. I was told to add an air regulator/water trap and a fitting to convert the airline the airbrush uses to what the air compressor uses. I have an Iwata airbrush and so I bought a hose adapter so I can connect it to 1/4" hose that comes from my compressor.

For you airbrushers out there.. Is there a type/brand of airbrush paint that you have found has better quality. I am brand new to airbrushing and have an Aztek A7778 airbrush that i picked up off eBay. Hope it isnt junk :P Any advice would be great.
