Ok so I had this idea for a bloody marry prop (i guess its more of a whole scene) and i wanted to share it and get some opinions...

    here is basically what happens....
(scene is a grungy poor lit bathroom)
guests walk into the bathroom and trigger a sensor

an actress sees a small light telling her someone has entered the bathroom
she turns on the fogger and in 2 seconds later turns on one of the lights behind the mirror.

after 3 seconds she herself steps up to the mirror and turns on more of the lights and the fan and screams and bangs the mirror and the faucet (and tub if there is one) sprays high pressure water or blood. if the guest tries to leave... he cant the door wont open till the scene has played out!

the lights go out completely and it is now pitch black in the room... *gasp* a sound of breaking glass shattering all over the floor and footsteps...

the door is still locked shut... but then the lights in the room come back on and the opens on its own to the next room/event...

here is a diagram i drew up... the actress doesnt wait directly behind the mirror the whole time the fog i think is unhealthy to be breathing in constantly and she has to hide when only the fog is showing in the mirror

Sounds epic, definitely something I'd attempt, granted you have everything you need. I really want to see how this plays out.

ya... i guess for a yard haunt you would just do the wall with the mirror and have to simplify it down alot but i was just brain stormin and thrown out ideas... i saw that there havent been any 2 way mirror props with live actors like this so it could be interesting to try

Sounds like a great idea. A few years ago I found a mirror at the Goodwill and stripped the backing off. Painted the frame and added a flickering candle bar on the bottom. Painted a Fridge box to look like stone and put a ground breaker skeleton and remote controlled light. Had it rigged where the candles went out and the light inside came on to illuminate the skeleton.
I love your idea though. I think I'll redo it this year. Put a live actor behind the mirror out of sight. A sign out front asking to tempt Bloody Mary. After saying her name three times the lights flicker and go out. A very long pause then the light behind the mirror comes on exposing the actor who screams something to the crowd. Thanks for the inspiration.

no prob thorn... as for a 2 way mirror, ive heard people use regular glass or plexi (plexi will probable withstand the abuse of the actor) with a mirrored window film on it

Ummm, how about having the faucets spray a mixture of tomato juice, Tabasco and a wee bit of vodka? I’m sure it would be a hit with the adults!

Ok, ok, sorry, I just could not resist
