ok, the way im understanding it,, and maybe im wrong,, im to dim the lights in the target room (where the ghost is seen) and raise the light in the source room (where the ghost really is) with my black light,, but how do i dim/raise a flourscent black light??????

am i misunderstanding and am just supposed to turn the black light on and then raise or dim the incandescent in the target area?

yes, because with the technology that we have today we still can not dim a black light lol, not being sarcastic, yeah you'll just have to dim the incandescent bulb

You could always gel a light source that can be dimmed to a UV level. Then you'll be able to raise and lower your lighting from one dimmer too, which gives that effect a much better look than trying to do it with two sources.

The other thing you can try (haven't yet done this myself but apparently it works) is to attach a flourescent blacklight to an oscillating fan. You may need to use some sort of reflector or a flourescent UV tube housing.

Set it up so the light source is only on the prop at the end or it's arc and so it's not on the prop at all at the other end. It may appear to fade a little too quickly for some peoples' taste from what I've seen of most oscillating fans. Food for thought!

Along this line...... and not to hi jack this thread.... I am doing a haunted mirror effect where one light dims as the other brightens...
I have a board on its way that will use a dry trigger and then once triggered it will dim one light and brighten another in about 3 seconds. Then it will wait 5 seconds and dim back the other way and have a 15 second delay before it can trigger again. Once I get it and see how it works out I'll post the results. If all works out, it will be something that others can order. Anyway, This thing could work very well for a peppers ghost! It will be set up for LED lights...

If I build it, will they come ?
