    Hey guys,

I dont know where else to turn, im in desperate need of a light board, [hopefully not to exceed 300$$], that can control different lights in my haunted house to different music, very improtant, right now im doing this all in just a 20X20 garage and having 3 different kinds of music hooked up to those "Lighting FX" boxes means they conflict because they have to be so loud near each box.

Any help and advice on light boards would be seriously appreciated, i really gotta figure this out for my last hurrah this year.

    Thanks!!
    Steve

You can bypass the built in mic on the Lightning FX boxes and run the sound directly in through the RCA jack on the back. Or split the sound and have one channel go to the FX box and the other to the speaker. It would be mono sound but that way you don't have to worry about sound interference.

For some reason my "shelf system" cd stereos dont do anything to those FX boxes when i plug a cable into them, im basically looking for something to control all of my pumpkins in a scene to flicker to music and to be able to efficiently create a flame flicker among other effects in different scenes where i may not want music.

Hmmmmmm. Not sure what the problem would be. I've just used very cheap MP3 players plugged directly into the FX box without any problems. I think I had to play around with the sensitivity and turn it up way higher than I would using the microphone but it still worked.

Wow! Great setup and video. Must have taken forever to make all of those props.

Couldn't you use a few of those GE Lights and Sounds of Christmas boxes to do what you want? Each box has 12 outlets to plug in props and it has an input jack for an MP3 player (or CD player or tape) for your own music.
I got mine at Sam's club a while back for around $60.

The attached pic shows a 4-channel light chaser and a Gilderfluke SD-10 MP3 player which stores all of the music on an SD card.

This is very helpful, sorry i turned to you guys last for help..hah.

Now my only problem, is i know i would figure how to use them quickly once i received it, but i need to shop around, and i have no idea how to use these or what they do.
Im shooting for a slightly inexpensive ]under300], sort of board "base station" if you will, that i can run my music through, at least 2 different musics...[sp], and for them to seperately go to lighting flickers or sequences, and then a couple of controllers that dont do music syncing but just flicker some bulbs like candles n such for me, im pretty sure this doesnt exist but something close at least, im sure you all have experience with these.

That's your display and you want to make it more stunning?! I think you're doing a great job as is!

Anyway, check out the fright lites from these folks-

Maybe they can be worked into your setup. The fright lite plus may be just the ticket for some of your needs. Good luck.

Here are some controllers you could look at:

Now are you trying to run your show off of a computer? Cause if you were you could take a look at DMX computer controllers or look into light-o-rama:
