well folks, I am really at the end of my wits... and hopefully someone here can help me.
I KNOW that last year I remember looking at a pretty detailed how to for a ground-breaker coffin prop that had a opening top-half lid and then a creature popped out/up from inside. I am 90% sure it was air powered, and I REALLY want to build it... but since this is my first time using air, I would REALLY like to find the how-to and go off of that. My go-to sites are halloweenmonsterlist, and this forum, but I have searched both up and down and can't seem to re-find it.
If anyone has any clues or ideas or could find it again, that would be AWESOME.
thanks.

If this is your first air prop I'd start with something easy. The easiest prop to build is a trashcan/barrel pop up. Once you get the basics down then branch out and tackle some harder stuff.
If you want to skip this step there is a book by Devious Concoctions The DC Prop Builders Handbook Vol 2 that has a step by step. Un-earthed Coffin page 51.

Do a search on this forum for "Otaku" that sounds like his prop. It is a pretty good prop and didn't really seem all that difficult to build.Buried Alive coffin almost finished, Here is the link to the thread he used a wiper motor for this.

Industen, I am in school to become an electrician, work on cars as a hobby, and am confident I have the mechanical skills to accomplish something like this... Also, I feel I have plenty of time right now to get it right. Thanks for the concern though.
bfjou,
This is not the one I was talking about unfortunately. The one I saw actually had the charachter jump out/forward, and the coffin was angled back or laying back a little bit.
GRR, I will find it....

I'm pretty sure it's the one detailed in that book. The only thing different is the coffin is laying down, but you could modifiy it on an angle.
