Hi Hi!
I was playing around this weekend and this is what I cam up with. It's inspired by the staff's in the lord of the ring movies. I wanted to see if I could make a convincing wood staff part. What do you think?

I think it looks great, do you have a wizard to go with it? I'd love to see the whole scene.

what kind of skull is that?
"...And out of the darkness, the Zombie did call
True pain and suffering he brought to them all
Away ran the children to hide in their beds,
for fear that the devil would chop off their heads..."

thanks, thanks! I really wanted some practice with making some wooden looking props this year.
the eyes are bought from skeleton-factory for about $3 a pair and the eye just popped right in the socket. The skull itself is from
mid sized some sort of resin/ceramic kind of skull
I had no problems buying from them and their prices are good, only wish they had more items. I was able to drill a hole in the bottom of the skull and fit the pvc into. I put some slight bends into the pvc with a heat gun but next time I think I'll make the bends more dramatic.
I wish I had a better scene for it too! I figured the gray background would be better than my laundry room which what was originally behind it

Do you need to be a wholesale distributor to order from there? Is the skull sturdy?

they sell to the public (at those prices too!). AFA the sturdiness, the first one I drilled with a hole saw fractured but the second one went smoothly. After I built the staff I dropped it once on the skull from about 4 feet high and it survived.
I got a few laying around that I could send your way, I'll send you a pm.

Great looking Staff! I see you used heat bent PVC for the core, how did you add the texture and color to the staff?
