I have been working on this for about a month. I just finished the main part. I wanted it to look alive and evil, like it wanted to eat someone. It's about 6 feet tall. The tree itself is made from 2 large cardboard moving boxes, duct tape, masking tape, wire to connect the 2 halves, a lot of paper mache and paint. I still have to add the branches, tree roots and sort out the lighting inside, I want the inside to be super bright. Total cost so far: about $10-11. Let me know what you think.

    That's coming along very nicely!

I could see having a small fog machine inside it too (if you made it so that the top isn't open and the fog will only come out of the mouth/eyes that would be a cool effect).

What color lighting are you going to use? I could see using a strobe light set to a fast cycle (as long as there are no epileptics TOT in your neighborhood as they are sensitive to strobe effects).

Can't wait to see it with the branches and the lighting!

i think you need somthing inside to hold the shape, cut a piece of pink styrofoam insulation,or even a piece of plywood to hold your "round" tree shape right now it looks a little to square, you have the right idea, just need to make it more structurally sound, not found of the red hi, light, unless you have a victim hanging out of it there is no need to hi lite this red , try dry brushing some white or lighter brown into the tree to give it some depth and apperance of bark
