Hello! Just finished my first tombstone and it's been done a million times before, but here's my take on it..

Going to do a Laureates corner or something in my graveyard and just have famous Authors tombstones abound, and maybe my favorite characters from horror literature!

It's made of the Pink Styrofoam (amazingly found it in Santa Clara, CA after looking everywhere for about four years!) I used a dremel to carve the letters and painted it with drylock. Still have to age it and make it look older, but for now it's on to other projects!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! So many awesome tombstones in this forum that make mine look like a store bought POS!! I remember a HP Lovecraft one that had the Necronomicon and a Beastie coming out from inside the stone.. that thing was epic!

My favorite website use to be Hauntproject.com and it still has a place in my heart, but this forum is full of so many talented people it's ridiculous! So glad I found this forum! I bought a dremel to do my tombstones and I like the detaila lot more than using an exacto knife, but I saw a thread today that the tombstones were done using just a knife and I was blown away, so I guess patience is the key!

I actually use carbon paper to trace the pattern onto the foam and then use the dremel to cut it out.. I think next time around to save time I'm going to glue the epitaph to the foam and then cut it out.. We'll see if it comes out the same!

    Exquisite job!
What kind of dremel tip did you use? How deep did you carve the lettering?

WOW! That is gorgeous! I've made quite a few and never had them turn out that good! If that's your first stone, I can't wait to see your next ones!
