Well, the blue paper is shop towels. They are very thick and work good on the arm bones. On the rib cage is a roll of brown hand towels. The kind you wipe your hands in public restrooms. They are very thin but go in the cracks of the rib cage easy and show more detail than the shop towels do. They dry harder than the shop towels do to. I'm just experimenting. I think something between the two would be perfect. Newspaper works good when using small strips to make a skull but tear easy if you try to use a large piece.

Really cool, Pooky. Can you tell us what was used for the head shape? Is it a foam skull modified or something similar. I like how it looks.

It's a paper mache skull made from a skull I bought off of ebay. The inside was filled with great stuff foam from Lowes. Here is a picture of it and how I propped the mouth open to make it look like it's in pain.

I think I might leave this skeleton as a half body and just add stuff hanging out the stomach to look like intestines. I think I'm finished besides painting.
