This year I want to spend less time and money making props (have a basement full already) and want to do a more "High Tech" approach. We host parties every year, last year we had 55 people. We have a big family room with a 2 story vaulted ceiling, so lots of projection wall space.

I have an "H2O" light that I usually use every year, one option would be to get a few more.

In the past I have also used an LCD/PC projector, played MP#s off it and projected the Window Media players "randomizer" on the slanted ceiling (neat effect).

I could probably scare up a few laptops and have video editing SW.

I thought I read last year about some LED light, low cost, low res projectors for cheap. Was wondering what I could do if those exist. Anyone know of any?

I have also surfed eBay for the lower res projectors that nobody seems to want anymore but haven't found much.

    Any ideas here?

Haven't seen an LED or low res projector worth a crap to use for viewing anything other than kids watching a wall movie on it, they just are not that good at any price what I've seen of them.........

Well I was thinking of like just projecting a moon and some clouds passing on a simple looping .AVI or something. I could see some places where a blurry low res projector in a very dark environment could work...

Keep a eye on this site/auction I see LCD projectors on it all the time....in lots. Some places ship but most you have to pick up yourself. To find anything close to your hometown do a search on advance searches. It takes a while to get register for this site so if you're planning on bidding on anything register days ahead of time.

Yep that's the one, personally not impressed for the price to the output, but for what you want to do would work......... unless used, the only lowest cost projector.

I just got an Eyeclops min projector from eBay for $65 including shipping. It's a "toy" projector, but I'm just starting out so I didn't want to sink a bunch of money into a projector just yet.
Haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Don't expect miracles on your Eyeclops projector. Last year I bought one, and had to return it because the image flickered. The second one (the replacement) also didn't work( never powered on) My hopes are high for you! The one I currently own works, but in my opinion it isn't worth $50. Best of Luck with yours!

After Halloween I decided to bite-the-bullet and purchase a mini projector.
It was the best Halloween buy I ever made. 800x600 res, 150lum (surprisingly bright for a mini projector) at a size of 4.5"x3".
It's 10X better then the Eyeclops or Wonderwall.

How much did you pay and what is the model / manufacturer?
