I've made a small child size foam torso that I would like to have rotating on a spit over a fire. I've figured out the asthetic aspects, but I'm not very mechanically inclined. Does anyone know of a simple way to make an animated spit so that it actually rotates? The simpler the better, but if its a little more complicated than I'm comfortable with I'm sure I know someone that could execute it for me if I have some direction. I have no idea right now.

Hard to beat a rotisserie motor for this. It's what they're made for and even come with a spit and connectors. Best of all, you can find them at garage sales so the price is right. I've even seen BBQ's with the rotisserie being given away for free on Craigslist.
