We are having a nursery with a baby that pops up and slams into a plexi window. We also want to have one of the babies spray water ....
I have a pond pump and am planning on turning it on with my picoboo timer/controller. Thing is.... when it pumps the water, I would like it to just kinda spit the water...I don't want to SOAK them.. ( ok I do! But I dont think they would like it)
What could I put on this pump hose to make it spit.... kinda mist like.....

what about those lawn sprinkler units that spit an amount of water then move around a bit.
they sort of have a weighted flap that gets blown out of the way allowing a 'spit' of water, then it closes for a little while.
just an idea

What if you had an air hose pointing out the mouth, and the pump would just continuously pump the water infront of the air valve. Then when you want spit to fly, blast the water stream with air and it'll spit out all over the place.

Hmmmm wonder if that would work? The pressure from the pump 'might' be enough to make that thing squirt the water around....
Thinking more of a mist though. A mist would make it so we don't have to MOP all night!
See, ulterior motives!!!
What we are doing is.... having a doll laying and it will look like its peeing! Diaper change time!!!!
Thought about having it pee into a bowl that would have a drain into a larger bucket of water where the pump is.
I could put a tee on the pump so that, when turned on, the doll would look like its peeing and a tube above the people could spray out water. They would think that they are getting pee'd on.
My reason for putting a T on the pump is that the doll is behind plexi and I don't know that I could make the stream from the doll go up over the plexi. It would have to be a fairly strong pump and then I couldnt make it a mist.

You can buy misting nozzles. They put out a very fine mist. People use them in the summer to help cut the heat.

Lynn, they also sell the hardware needed to mount the nozzle to a hose. I've seen this stuff at my local Home Depot and Loews. I have the misters on my patio too. Worst case, make a hole in the hose and glue the nozzle in. Use some vinyl tubing.

Lynn if this a air prop it will be easy to made a spitter/mister out of it by adding another solenoid valve, a air line, a tee fitting and a gallon jug of water. Both of the props below used a spitter. The snake spit a mist of water out its mouth

I had a spitter in the guts of this prop

And it sprayed a mist of water/blood when the saw dropped.

I don't think I have any pictures of it in action, I know I had a vid on the old Halloween hosting site in 2005. But I think that's long gone. This is really a very easy thing to do and I'm sure I could walk you throught it in no time.

H.D., Lowes, Orchard, etc has plastic mister ends for couple dollars pack of 3-5 that you can put on the end of a plastic tube. I used this for a spraying skull prop & wanted a mist not a "spew" of water.
I used an car 12v windshield washer pump. Got one for a junk yard, had a water bottle with the pump attached......the plastic bottle held enough for the night with plenty left over !When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........
