Can you make a pepper's Ghost with a bottomless pit? I've looked online, but can't find anything. How can I put them together? Any help? I'm making it for my Silent Hill room.

I have never done one, but both illusions work off the same principle, reflected images due to the placement of a light source. I would imagine the difference with adding a peppers ghost would be placing a sheet of Plexiglas at a 45 deg angle in between the two plates of the bottomless pit mirror. Depending on which light source was on it would determine which image was seen. I know there are others on this forum with much more experience than me, but that is my two cents worth. Hope it helps.

Actually it has been done in a sense. Paris Disneyland's Phantom Manor has a version of this idea. The "Endless Hallway" is done the same way as the bottomless pit. As part of the effect, they have a candelabra suspended halfway down and a "Pepper's Ghost" of a woman holding it who then fades in and out.

The trick is that you need the bottomless pit to be large enough to contain the pepper's ghost effect including the 45 degree mirror and the actual prop that is "off-stage". What might work very well here is substituting your pepper's ghost prop (whatever it may be) with a small LCD monitor with video of the actuall effect or ghost. That way you don't need an area to the side of the pit to allow for the size of the prop.

Does that make sense? It did to me, but I don't put much weight in that! LOL

Here's video (albeit brief) of that effect. Skip to 4:23 in the video for the "fading bride" in the "Endless Hallway" at Phantom Manor, Disneyland Paris. Through a Pepper's Ghost setup, the ghost-bride fades in & out whilst still maintaining hold on the candelabra and the hallway itself is a giant version of the Endless Pit!

Remember to skip to 4min 23 seconds into the video:
