Thread: Poll what color is best for my mermaid???

Ok I do a pirate theme yard haunt and I have been wanting a mermaid for years. Finally I got the tail I have always wanted for my skelly.


I have painted the seashells purple and now it is time for hair!! What color wig should I use ? I thought Red would be too obvious (ariel) and so would blonde.
I have three colors I am leaning towards but if you have any other suggestions please let me know. Oh and I named her Sydney if you wanted to know.
here are the choices
1. Blue Wig
2. Green Wig
3. Purple Wig
4. Other and please suggest what color

I would do grey or blonde so I choose other.

I like the green just slightly more than the blue, but then I thought "How are you going to light her?" and if you use colored lights, it really won't make a big difference between green or blue, since it will be washed in whatever color you end up using as well...

I kind of like the idea of using white hair if you're going to light the scene with either blue or green lighting. It will look more ghostly in my opinion.

I never thought of the white hair! I think I am kind of liking that option also!

I tried to make one on my own it ended up looking like a 2 year old did it . I scrapped it. I came across an ad on Robot Monkey Lab . The tail was an old prop on a small movie called grumboon? I think that is the name of it. Anyway they were selling it for $50 bucks. I almost fell over and passed out. I called him instantly and bought it. You can't tell but the bottom part was the tail and the top half the torso he built up to make an entire tail so all in all total it was $100. The bottom part of the tail has hand sculpted scales. With flecks of blue, green and gold. Gorgeous the top part has the same coloring and it is all made of latex. It has been sealed 4x and it is flexible so great for posing. Robot Monkey Lab ROCKS!
