Not the greatest picture but this is a glass lamp top that I took off to make stained glass lamps.
Anyway I thought this looked an awful a lot like an eyeball and wanted to put battery tealights under them outside,
The only problem is there is a whole in the top and I need to make the centre of the eyeball and don't know what to use? Any ideas?

Is your goal to make them just look like the pupil (the black area) of the eyeball, or make them weatherproof AND look like a pupil?
If you don't plan on them being out in stormy weather (like you're just going to use them the night of while you're out there and can pull them in if it gets bad), then you can use heavy black paper cut to fit the area and hot glued into place.
If you're wanting a more weather resistant option, then you might try some craft foam sheets like this:

They come in lots of colors, you can cut them with scissors and they are cheap and available in most craft stores.
and again use a glue gun to attach.
As long as you're not using incandescent bulbs - LED or flicker candles would be great. Incandescents would heat things up and would need to have a bit of venting and may even soften the hot glue.
I'd use a bit of light colored paint on the edge of the glass opening (something that would wipe off the glass) and then press it down onto the foam while its still damp to transfer it so you won't have to trace it and then you could cut out the outline pretty easily.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

So the hole in the top is where you're planning to put the pupil, right? If so, then probably some piece of thin sheet plastic that you could even slightly bow similar to the curvature of the rest of the "eye" using a heatgun. I'm envisioning using a large enough circle of plastic where you could paint the outer part of the plastic to look like the eye's iris. A little red translucent or even florescent paint to enhance the veining in the whites might be nice to make them stand out even more.
Nice re-use of stuff that might otherwise be trashed. Good luck.Demon Dog

How large is the hole in the center? I have seen some round tail light lenses at the auto parts store that are curved and might fit. They could easily be painted.
