I'm starting on my paper mache skeletons. Any idea on where I can find or what can I use to make some really strandy spooky looking hair for the skulls?

I bought a simple, long hair, black and white halloween costume wig. When I need some hair I cut out a section, and I can choose from white or black, cut it long or short. I just dip one end in glue and glue it on. Hope that helps.

Depending on how much hair you need, beauty supply stores or hair care departments in stores can be a great place to locate faux hair extensions or braids. I bought a few packages of it last year from Dollar Tree in fact. It was a great deal since there was quite a bit of hair and it was pretty long, and all for $1. I have a few props that will have their head covered by hats, hood, cloaks, etc. and I don't really need a full head of hair. Hair comes in all shades of coloring also.

Here's a pic of the hair material I picked up from Dollar Tree:

If you want real stringy wiry hair, I have used sisal/jute rope and just unbraid it with a comb. Works for hula skirts too.

I usually grab a few wigs on clearance for a buck ofter Halloween... use bits and pieces from them on most everything.

But for now in the off season you should be able to find them cheap enough. Any ol' polyester type should work... you would be amazed at how a little swatch can be spread around and used on mulitple props from a single wig.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.
