Ok, so I see in a lot of these posts, lots of great ideas on projections, from scrim screens and ghosts to window displays, etc...
My question is - with all the options available and the technology that is so readily available now-a-days, what is the most economical way you have all found to project anything at night, outside, on your window, garage door, etc?
I have around four ideas of places to use projections this year, but I don't want to spend a thousand or more dollars trying to get that video thrown up on the screens.
Thoughts?

I always borrow a projector from a friend-- no cost, high quality

there's two DIY projector options if your on a small budget. If you have a little $ then buy a mini projector. I bought one recently that is 3.5X5" 800x600 res and 180 lumens (very bright for an LED mini projector)
If your looking for screen options: Dollar Tree white tablecloth works great. Mirror film by Gila can create an interesting holographic/almost 3D effect similar to pepper's ghost (if rear projected)
If you're going to project, go with rear projection! This is my favorite method because it can be hidden from ToTs and potential vandals. Last year I posted about rear projecting an animated witch flying over my very own full moon (frosted Plexiglas attached to roof).
What did you have in mind?

If you wan to be cheap, check your local electronic surplus stores or craigslist for projection panels and overhead projectors. You should find them for wayy under $50 each, sometimes even free. You end up with something like this

and the image looks more or less like this

The screen image is 165" diagonal- which is probably bigger than any window you have in your house

I am thinking about creating a video of security guys walking around the outside of the house, this would loop and become the "norm" if you will. Then I want to dim the lights in the house, make a noise outside, right as the guards start to get attacked by zombies. Ultimately they bite it, and the remainder of the party consists of zombies periodically showing up in front of the windows and banging on the sides of the house. I have some ideas on pneumatic "kickers" that will do the banging kind-of times with the video.
For more details, read the bottom part of my post here (2010 Party Ideas and Plans). I show my invites and theme a little more in-depth.
