Well I dug out my Trick for Treat table and yes I did pronounce it right as you will see in the vid. I figured if anyone wanted to build one now is the time to show it.

Like said I left the table totally barren except for the bowl and the sign. Years back my cousin and I made a table similar to this one but with a person under the table and the bowl. It turned out pretty uncomfortable for the person under the table, cramped, hot, awkward, and your arm would get scratched pushing up through the bowl. The candy of choice in the bowl is the iconic Reece's Peanut Butter Cup, single or double. I found out that candy thinner or smaller in size led to candy falling down into the bag that incloses the hand and winds up jamming it up way too often. Now some candy does migrate into the hole for that is the reason for the bag in the first place. Without the bag you will get a floor full of candy. I lure the victims in with the words "TAKE ONE PIECE" and I raise my tone with each statement, the longer they take to reach for the bowl hehehehe. Then I hit them with the air pfffft... "Oh, is that all it is that I am scared of, I'll go for a piece" they think, again hehehe. Then, depending on the victim, if it is a teen or adult they get the full slam of the pedal "POW". Candy goes flying as the hand launches up and so do most victims. If little ones, I slowly rise the hand for a smile and laugh. I hit one little girl square in the face with the air only once and it took about 5 seconds of a blank stare to turn to horror and tears. I felt soo bad I ran out and gave her a handful of peanut butter cups as a Mea Culpa, ah good times, good times.

Wicked!!!! At first I was thinking "who wants to sit under a table all night" which you ended up mentioning in your narrative below the video, but when I saw the underside of your table and your whole mechanical set up while watching the video I started smiling at the construction of it. Very nicely done. You MUST post videos of it during use this year.
I'd love to see a parts list along with dimensions if you don't mind sharing how exactly you built yours. Great idea and so sure to scare the shoes off of someone. Heck be prepared to be cleaning up the floor around your Trick for Treat table. I think the floor is going to get wet.

Awesome effect! I particularly like how portable it is. I hate getting stuff setup and realizing that I wanted it somewhere else, and that is a whole bunch of work. With just the air line, this is great.

Hmmm, liking this. Oh wait, there ain't enough time to finish all the stuff I got lined up already. This is tempting though...
We have the hand puppet version of this where you stick your own hand through the bottom of the candy dish your holding. That usually got most ToTers so this must be a big hit. We also were toying with the idea of combining the candy table with the old favorite Trash Can Trauma but under the bowl.
Where did you get the hand from - it apparently is strong enough to push the candy out and not fold in two on the way up."The name is Ash....housewares."

Ok, the hand was a regular rubber hand that I filled with metal nuts and plaster of paris. I needed it solid and heavy to drop back down into the hole from whence it came. The table itself consists of about 4- 8ft. 2x4s, a 2 1/2 x 4ft piece of plywood. any sort of table covering of your choice. Plastic bowl screwed to the table. 16in. piece of 2in pvc. 2- 2in pipe hangers. Blow gun for a air compressor. An air compressor. I also have a reducer nozzle imbeded into a hole in the front of the table, angled upward. Some foam padding for bumpers underneath. A 3ft. piece of 3/8 threaded rod and two rod hangers. Box o screws and your all set.

ok, it's official....I love you guys! LOL This is probably one of the best TOTs tricks that I've seen. I have an idea running around my head now though. Lets say you wanted to dress up as a gypsy. How cool would it be to cut a hole in the "crystal ball" (which is holding the candy, with the hand mechanism in place underneath) fog swirling around in the ball making it hard to see what's coming up to grab you, some of it seeping out the hole...
Eh, anyway....top notch prop!
