Any ideas on how to and what to make them out of?
Thanks

You can try to make them out of cardboard like I did for my Anubis Statues and Sphynx. Both threads can be found in the step-by-step section.
It's a little bit of work but you can't go wrong. If you make a wrong cut , throw the piece away and make a new one.
For the heads , you can buy masks .

You can paper mache them and that way you can give each charector a desired theme. I would go with witch Marge! Then just make pvc bodys and use insulation to pad them.

Carve them out of foam. Check out what this guy did on his blog. Go waaay down near the bottom. Yes, it is a skill and it takes time, but the results can be simply awesome!
