Back around Easter Michaels Crafts had a bunch of foam eggs for sale and being the deviant I am, the first thought that came to my mind was Spider Eggs. So I waited until they were on After Easter 70% off sale and bought up a handfull.

They started off in all manner of gross easter colors so I painted them all white to start fresh. One of them that was yellow underneath gave off a nice aged white that I liked, so I went with it and started ripping it up with a pair of pliers to make it look like the spiders therein had already hatched. I loved the look of it so much I did up a second one to look like the spiders had hatched. I then covered all of them in hot glue much in the same way web shooters work, but I had no compressed air--so I just wiggled my hot glue gun around a lot about 2 feet above each egg. 30 gluesticks later I got this:

Here's a blacklight shot, but my camera went wonky on me and gave me some odd dark spots. The point of this shot was just to remind me that they're very blacklight reactive.

I haven't yet made any, hopefully sometime soon though. Another thing I was hoping to do that may improve the scene is putting some slow moving motor with an offcenter disk under one or two of them to give them some animation, as though spiders are about to hatch

this is a neat idea, but the only thing I see that stands out is that spider eggs dont look like chicken eggs...

this sac contains many hundreds of small round eggs.

I like the way you made them but they look more like Alien spores to me (still cool looking). Have you tried covering them in webbing to see how they look like that, wrapped individually in webbing and hung from the ceiling would look cool!
Of course if you wernt looking for any critique then forget everything I just wrote.

I like the look but not for spider eggs (as shown), looks really cool as alien spores.

Critiques are good, that's the only way I'll get better. Thanks for the advice! I'll try wrapping them in webbing and see how it turns out
