Well last year this one was my biggest hit with the victims. It scared almost everybody that approached it. No one thought that the skull would shoot up outta of the water at them. Several members of the forum asked me how I did it so I made a video to show. The first vid is my Haunt with the cauldron and my Witch prop, which everyone thought was going to jump at them, if you jump to 1:25 you'll get right to it. The second vid is the how I did it.

Love that! The skull shooting up out of the water scared me and I was expecting it. LOL Great looking haunt. Camping + Halloween = gotta be fun!!

Cool prop. Liked it. We also do the camping/decorating thing each October. So far what we have done is a huge pumpkin patch each year (all the pumpkins are connected via vines), with cats, birds, spiders and scarecrows. The CFO (aka, wife) says "no" to the scary stuff until the grandkids are a little older.
Again, nice prop!

You have some great stuff in that haunt! The scare coming from the water is so deviously unexpected, and I could imagine your set-up could very easily be modified into other themes (maybe it's because I just finished an ichthyology class, but I'd love to see this using some scary sort of fish jumping out of a small pool or swamp). Thanks for sharing your videos!
*I have very limited internet access over the Summer (starting May 13th), so please pardon me while I play 'catch-up' and maybe resurrect an older thread or two along the way

As far as scaring the little ones goes, my sister in law brought our nieces, age 3 and 5 to the campsite. Within 5 minutes of pulling out my scary Zombie mask, they were begging me to let them run around and wear it, they were even fightin over who got to wear it longer, ahhh good times, good times.

I have my prop trigger lines run to a chair beside the campfire. In the evenings a argument usually ensues about who gets to sit in the hot seat. I have the props manual triggers set into an old igloo cooler that I have ran ran the lines to. When no one is in the seat and someone comes strolling by there is a mad dash by several kids and adults alike to trigger the effects.
And thank you all for your great replies.
P.S. I have a Demon Baby Carriage coming soon"Why settle for being the Prince Of Darkness when you can be the King!!"

I LOVE your whole haunt!!! WOW, what a great setup....I dream of having something like that someday.
