I didn't have any special lighting last year, and would like to do some this year for my graveyard, but I only have one outside socket (two plug-ins), and I have NO electrical knowledge. How do I begin to make do some safe and easy lighting techniques. I want them mostly for my graves and grim reaper.
Thank you!

skullandbone.com is a great place to start,, i too have only one outlet, two plugs,, i actually have six cause the timer i have plugged in to my only front outside plug in has 6 plugs on it,, i then run everything from that timer,, 6 floods, roughly 80 candles, some string lights etc.. i havent thrown the circuit breaker, but i did wire that plug straight to my load box,, no other plugs or what nots are on that circuit.

Here's a link to an easy first time LED lighting project. http://haunttheyard.blogspot.com/2009/08/led-spots.html
I made mine up to use a 9 volt battery so they are stand alone lights. We also made these last month at the San Diego Garage of Evil make and take.

Well, with a standard outlet of 15 amps at 120 volts, you can use up to 80% of the max watts (1800W) for lighting. That would be 1440 watts (i.e., 14 100W incandescent flood lights or over 100 5W LED bulbs), so there is definitely enough electricity to light up a large graveyard and then some. Get a couple of timers with 6 outlets, several extension cords, many floodlight holders, and weatherproof LED bulbs, and you're in business.

You guys are the best! I LOVE this website. And my graveyard is small so I'm sure I have plenty of volts to use! Woo hoo! Thanks so much for all the info, I can't wait to use it up!

now play with the lighting that you think you might want to use...try different colers and positions as to create a lighting mood or effct that will give you the best results...t a couple of gravestone out in the yard and mee with them in the dark so you can get a good idea as to what you might like....oh yeah if you do it soon it will make the go "what are they doing now"???

Don't think you're limited to just that one outside plug. I open the window and run an extension cord to the plug in my front room and the garage so I can run things off of different circuits. To be on the safe side you can get an extension cord with a built in GFIC (ground fault) at any hardware store they are a bit more money but worth the safety.

Check out this sight. It's very informative and technical, yet easy enough for anyone to achieve great results!http://www.skullandbone.com/tutorial_01.htm

Yep, I'm looking at the same situation. I plan on using a few battery LED flood lights I found for $5.00 ea. Don't know how bright they are yet though.
I'm also looking at some solar yard lights, I;m thinking they may be bright enough to light up a few tombstones. Hey haunting goes green !
