Came across this "Emergency Party Button" project by Brian Gaut that would be great adapted as an Emergency Button in a Mad Scientist Lab.
As you'll see in his YouTube video of it in operation, his set up controlled devices such as lighting and a fog machine. So I was thinking for a Halloween Lab make it interactive for some of the ToTers, and rig up some different things so that one of the kids could press it while in the lab and set off alarms, a flashing red beacon, etc. Fog could suddenly come out of a cryogenics tube and the scientist/lab assistant could indicate that what was in it was going to defrost and come to life (great time for an actor to start emerging).
The project webpage has photos of the build, a project list, and cost of parts for what he did.
I love the button and lock key especially.

Brilliant. I could have huge signs...DON'T PRESS BUTTON!!! and of course they will and I could have all hell break loose. That would be hilarious!

That's so great. I caught myself moving my head with the music.....
One pound of flesh. No more, no less. No bone. No cartlilage, but only flesh.
