After being tortured by the wiring for this candleabra all weekend, I can call it good. The base for the candleabra cost three bucks from the Salvation Army. After I got my new found gem home, I had buyer's remorse and put it in the attic because it really looked plain and old fashioned to me. Last week, I was doing my usual inspirational/educational perusing of the Web and came across Terror Syndicate's candles. Alas, there was my candleabra that I never really gave a chance. The candles are my usual PVC/Hot Glue but hard wired with flicker bulbs. Unfortunately, I didn't take any before pics because I was too eager to put it together. I can tell you there was a whole lotta Spackle and dry brushing.

    The photos:

Here's a close up of the 16 Ga wiring. 5 sets all hidden down the middle of the candelabra (no, it is not hollow). It was tight.

That's awesome. I would have never guessed those were the wires. Looks like vines or just twisted metal. Just out of curiousity, how did you do the finish on it ? It looks friggin' cool.
One pound of flesh. No more, no less. No bone. No cartlilage, but only flesh.

I coated it in Drylok to bring everything together texture wise. I was reluctant to do that because of the tendency for it to make all things look like stone. It did fill in the wires nicely. I attempted a patina finish that didn't work but still turned out great. It looks superb in low light that, of course, doesn't come through in the pictures. The little bumps on the top and bottom are metal. I had to drill through the metal and then use tin snips to make it big enough for five sets of wires. It all turned out almost seamless in the end.
