I reformatted my computer last week and forgot to save my downloaded fonts so I need to start over. For those of you who have carved your own tombstones (that's a weird way to begin a sentence) what are some of your favorite fonts?

Great question and this will be a great reference thread.
Here's the fonts I've used:
Nosferatu:
Name is Papyrus and latin poem is Blackadder ITC
Cornelius' name is BernhardMod BT. The date is Georgia
Mercy L is Franklin Gothic Demi
The rest of the epitaph is Modern No. 20
Valdemar name is Goudy Stout. The rest is Matura MT Script Capital
Beloved is funny. The name was supposed to be English111 VivaceBt but was changed to something else (no idea what it is) The poem is Blackadder ITC
Arachne is CAC Camelot and the poem is a special font I bought called Chiller.
William Wilson is all Arial Black
Mary's name is franklin Gothic Demi and the poem and date is CAC Camelot

Thank you so much Terra! Very helpful info. I like that the ones you used are both easy to read and realistic looking.

Usually, the thicker the font, the easier it will be to read. Yet I noticed Terra used both Papyrus and Blackadder ITC (thin fonts but two of my favorites for printed materials) and these look nice.
Terra, at night, how well can you read the fonts on the Nosferatu tombstone? (Nice combination of fonts on your tombstones.)
Also remember, that people will usually be glancing at the text no more than a couple of seconds, so if it's not easy to read, people won't remember the tombstone.
Check out the Davis Graveyard collection of tombstones.

A great point you are making about the thinness of the fonts you pick. I design the stones to give the impression of a realistic graveyard and real stones usually have smaller fonts. Here's a shot of the graveyard if you were seeing it from your car:
But, on Halloween many people go right up to the fence to look at the stones and they can then see the epitaph well:
So, really great points when deciding on the size of your fonts. If people can only get so close, you will have to pick the bolder, larger fonts.

Mdme L., I have a small collection I can send you (fairly small file sizes) if you can PM me an email address? This includes Ravenscroft, the other version Gracey's Curse and POTC!
Mr. G."Look Honey, they have... uhm... 'Dead People' in the backyard!"
"Your body's dying. Pay no attention, it happens to all of us!"
