Reindeer motor and my peeker skele

    + gothic tombstone

    = not working

I am going back to the drawing board after this experiment failed. The gothic tombstone is 51" tall and too thin to withstand the skele holding onto it without shaking. So now I am starting over with a new tombstone that will accommodate mr. peeker. At least I got a decent tombstone outta the idea. It's sorta like cooking - you can eat your mistakes.

Terrific tombstone (again), usually my failures don't look so terrific. Good luck with the re-design. I am sure it will be fantastic too.

Wow, love the skull. Have you thought about putting some eyes in it? That will take it to the next level! Good stuff!

I'm sure you have already thought of adding a board layer for structure onto the back of the tombstone.

Actually, I got so excited to see the thing in action I forgot to add the 2" backing and threw on the base a little early. By that time, I figured I'd just start over rather that take a chance on making things worse because the routing on this tombstone was completely ridiculous.

There is a plywood base as well that I just left in place but foreshortened for stability.

I am looking at more actual tombstone pics for inspiration now. I think building the platform first and then making the tombstone custom to that instead of the other way around will work better.

Thinking about it even more...I could extend the platform framework over to the hand for support so that it only appears to be hanging onto the tombstone...

Okay, time permitting, this tombstone would be the perfect backdrop for a Casa Fear pneumatic ground breaker. Oh, yeah!
