Greetings,
I wanted to make a skull shaped flowerpot for some live Venus Flytraps. Is there a waterproof air-dry clay out there, or am I better off using Sculpey?

I don't know of any, but if you were to glaze and fire it you'd be good to go...

I'm going to try using sculpey on a terracotta pot and see how it turns out. Hopefully pics will follow.

Dead honest here.
Great Stuff.
It's resilient enough to fight my razor blades and scrapers, if you used an outdoor enamel paint over the shaping, it'd be weatherproof for certain!
Use a pot as a starter, blob a little and build up a few layers, then you can start carving and shaping.

Remember, its gotta stiffen up a bit. So try to corkscrew the pot to build up a full layer all around, then wait so it expands and hardens before you build another layer. It's sometimes deceiving how the foam really will expand, so be ready for it.
And GLOVES GLOVES GLOVES! And PLASTIC SHEETS! You don't want this crap sticking to YOU or your stuff.
