So today I finished my animated caretaker. Below are the rest of the photos and a video of him in action.

He is over 6 feet tall. I think I want to change his hat and make his hair gray, What do you all think?

I think he looks great as is. His facial expression fits a younger-looking caretaker (like he's new on the job) and he's scared silly of his new job. Plus the hat is great too.

I think it depends on the look you're going for. Your haunt right?

That's awesome! I agree with Terra, I like him just the way he is.

A few years ago, my son did a Wyoming history project on cemeteries all over the state. The 6'4" caretaker of the old west cemetery in one little town was wearing that exact same hat.

I like it! I think I also like the hat and hair. If you do want to give him gray hair then you would about have to go back and add wrinkles and heavy jowls etc. to his face to "age" him (perhaps a gray mustache)
I agree with Terra, as is his face looks young and goes well with the expression. (For some reason I see him as British)
But then, I could see him as a freaked out old caretaker too.

Great prop! What's his name? Other than filling out his arms a bit more I probably would leave him as is--I like his clothes, hat and hair. If you aged him I agree with Mad Mad Mark in that I would also then feel he would need aging in other areas (including leaning over a bit). He's a young guy with a tall upright build (nice height to tower above the youngsters) and he looks scared to death about what might be making those sounds and movements in the cemetary.
I'm guessing about his head. Is it paper maché? What motors did you end up using for the arm and the head?
oops! just answered my last questions by surfing further down the threads in this section. My Caretaker is Underway...Last edited by Ghost of Spookie; 04-11-2010 at 02:09 PM. Reason: updated after seeing earlier thread on Caretaker
