I got this sharks jaw off CraigsList and it was missing a few teeth.
I made some new ones out of foam board and coated them with white glue and then with latex. Thought that might do the trick, but I'm not very happy with the way they came out. I would rather they have a hard coat finish on them.
The original teeth were made out of some sort of foam with a hard coating covering the teeth. Does anyone know what I could use to coat over the foam board on the new teeth I made to give it a hard shell ? Thanks !

I would try some of the water based varnish that is available at most hardware stores. Experiment on a small piece first to make sure it does not erode the tooth. Wow, I sound like a dentist.
Let us know how it goes.
Haunt on dude.It is not a sprint, nor a marathon, just a slow meandering down the path to the grave yard.

I'd use either paper mache or paper towels/toilet paper, brushed on with paper mache paste. use a waterproof spray laquer when painting is done.
That's what I use on my skulls as a finish coat and it works great."I have a secret...........I see stupid people....and they don't know they're stupid..."

I use to build exhibits for trade shows. We used something called Foamcoat. Rosco is the maker I think. It was used to seal carved foam pieces and is amazingly strudy.

Thanks scourge, everyone !
A friend of mine had some foamcoat and let me try it on the shark teeth. Don't think it was made by the same company you mentioned scourge ? I coated the teeth and they seem to have come out fine. I still need to sand, prime and paint them. The foamcoat left a nice hard shell on the teeth. Once I get it all put back together, I'll post pics. I'm thinking of painting it with Wildfire florescent paint so it will glow like crazy under black-light !

Looking good. Does that foamcoat stuff make weatherproof?
