It's been quiet around here lately so I thought I'd post a video of something I made last year. I need to firstly give credit to daveinthegrave for some of my inspiration. He designed the eye movement mechanics for Frankie'sgirl's haunted picture, but when I saw it I knew just how to incorporate it into my own haunt. With just a little adapting to attach a servo motor for a more random movements I made this tombstone like the one in disney's Haunted Mansion. The eyes in the video have been replaced and now are aligned much better.

Very cool indeed.. See, me, being a imature moron, would had the eyes crossed for comedic effect.. I did to one of my zombies, I almost peeded my pants every time I looked at it, until my wife got tired of it and fixed the eyes straight... Yes, I am totally childish in my soul...

Buckaneerebabe, you beat me to it! great job!!! I absolutely love the random eye movement... it looks spectacular! I also love the 3d face.

I have a Leota Toombstone (pun intended) planned using the old hollowed out following eyes technique as this fellow did:

But then I wanted to make them blink and appear to open randomly. My plan is to hook up a hacked motion sensor to turn on the eyes and "wake-up" Leota when guests get near her. The sensor will be on the "test" setting turning off the eyes when geusts move on. I hope! LOL

BTW, Did you use a female mask or is that from a styrofoam manequin head? It looks amazing! That's the part I still haven't quite figured out yet. I'm thinking the mask will be easier and then I'll just monster mud the shrouding over and under her head (or something like that).

BB - your Madame Leota looks fantastic. Great work on blending everything together.
Really like the glow to the eyes, and the fact that they don't move in a predictable pattern - gives a bit more mystery to the prop.

Great looking tombstone! That's a very innovative use of eye movement.

Yes, Mr Grimsley I used a mask but I didn't put monster mud on the mask part. I was afraid it would spoil her complexion. I do hope you make one this year, it was fun to make.
