Thrift stores, swap meets and yard sales are a great place to find them cheap.
So many little lost wall warts, looking for a purpose.

Seems like a lot of people end up with power adaptors that no longer have a gadget to power.

If I only had half the ones I had thrown out over the years... I have a bunch of 3,4,5,6v but need some 12v. I got them from Burden once before but the shipping hurts.

    Old computer power supplies, perhaps?
    They have a 5v and a 12v feed.

Just had a look at my local Craigslist, and found 2 on the "Free" list posted within the last few days.
(checked some New York listings - Syracuse had something a couple of days ago, an older computer - might be something you could use)

Every time i go to my local electronic bulk supply, i see tons of them, surplus and CHEAP! There is usually a voltage out there for just about any haunters needs.

I've got TONS of them just from simply asking my friends and family....ANY time you come up with a wall wart, save it for me OK? Co-workers have really come through too....Just ask, you'll be amazed.....They've really helped getting a pile of POWERED PC speakers too....My hardest find seems to be the 24 volt wall warts....I need them for relays, solenoids,etc.....Good luck!....ZR
