Sparkfun.com has this MP3 Trigger board for $50.
The board has 7 external triggers pins that can launch pre-selected MP3 tracks stored on a microSD card. This sounds very interesting.
Has anyone used this board in a prop?

That's cool - I see a lot of potential there.
Sparkfun's awesome.

I use the mp3 trigger in my monster controller. The six buttons on the front of this prop are connected to the mp3 trigger inside. Another trigger is connected to an internal prop controller.
This is an early picture of the insides of the prop...showing the trigger from the prop controller to the mp3 trigger.
So far, I've had no problems with it. I recorded seven files to the memory card and the quality is great. There doesn't appear to be an annoying limit like most audio cards.
Note - I believe the board only uses 2gb memory cards because of the fat16 format.

Btw...if you had made it to the make-n-take yesterday, you would have been able to see the prop.

I know! I know!
I was on the road headed your way when Dixie called and said they had run over something and got a flat tire in east Texas. I just did a 180 and headed their way. By the time I got back to the house to clean up, I was NOT a happy camper! So, I sat down and watched the tail end of Garage of Evil's drunken antics on their webcast.
What's wrong with the world when people in the North East are hanging out in their garage drinking beer and wearing t-shirts, while down in Texas I am bundled up fighting rain and snow while changing a flat tire on the Interstate?
This has been one weird year so far.
