The only real efficient way to dim an LED is by using Pulse Width Modulation. They really don't like having their voltage lowered. It can be done cheaply and efficiently using a PIC and a little programming. here is a url for one that was done to control an RGB LED setup. The basics are the same for just making them go dim and bright. RGB LED controller (sorry the link does not go automatically. Haven't figured that one out yet.) Not sure how many LEDs you want to control but the gentleman at Animated Prop Systems - Lighting and Audio Products for Creative Prop Builders has a board that will allow you to connect up to the servo outputs of a servo control board and you can use VSA to control the brightness of the LEDs. Probably as clear as mud right now but I can elaborate as needed and I am sure some of the others here on the forum will chime in. (I have not met a sharper bunch of folks anywhere ) Keith
