This year I'm using the motor to pwer the head on my Darth Maul. The head will tilt up and down, sort of like in the movie. I just got the motion down so it is pretty smooth. Before it had a little "jerking" action going on.

I just disconnected mine from the deer today and I want to use it, just not sure what would be best. I want to use it on a wig head to make it turn from side to side, rather like the deer head motion. Another possibility is using it on a MITB. Anyone have RD motor tips?

I haven't made any props from deer motors but I an flying crank ghost the uses one, works very well nice and quiet and has an extra plug. The only thing I have noticed is that the motor has a reversing feature that is if it senses too much resistance it reverses direction. So in the case of the FCG it needs to be well blanced. I don't know if all deer motors are like this but it seems this would limit there lifting ability.

Another use I've seen is the haunted ouija board, Daveinthegrave made one using a deer motor and took advantage of the reversing feature. Dave's Haunted Ouija Board

I have 2 deer motors. First one was used to 'steer' our pirate ships wheel.
The second was used to move the head of a corpse lying on a bed back and forth.
This year, I may use one to move the head of a baby doll in a baby bed in a nursery back and forth. Pretty much like the corpse last year. I havent decided on the other one yet.
Maybe move the hand in a coffin that has the door proped up a little. May move a 'foam' book on a shelf.... Lots of possiblities. As long as what you want it to do is light weight and repetative, you can use it for so many things. You could even drop and lift a light weight head. If you figured out the mechanics... you could even turn the page of a book back and forth. ( I may try that one !) Just put it in a box and let it go..... let it hit the sides of the box and make noise, along with a cd player saying 'let me out' .

If I build it, will they come ?

Great ideas do you have pictures of how the motor is attached on your finished props. This may help me figure out what to do and how to mount them.

    Sorry ! I don't have pics..
The head on the bed was pretty easy. It was a foam head that I attached a wooden rod into the hole in the bottom of the head and used some strapping material to strap around the rod and screw it to the table. I then attached a metal rod to the deer motor. The motor still had the rods on it from the reindeer.
The metal rod I attached to the motor was long enough to reach the foam head up through a slit that I cut into the table. It was then hooked into a hook that I attached with hot glue to the back of the head.
The motor I just duct taped to the leg of the table.( I was lucky that the table was one where the legs met in the middle and then spread out.... you may need to make something under the table under the area where the foam head is.

Our head was then covered with a sheet.... The room it was in was a morgue. So it looked like a dead body coming to life.
Hope you can make head or tails out of this.... ????
