I was on the way home on Friday when suddenly my Toyota shot out of control and ended up in the Big Lots parking lot, imagine that!
I spied a pack of 8 flameless tealight candles for $6.00 American and a ghostly force made me buy them.
I got home and dug out a couple of old "Cheesy" garage sale candle holders and went to work.
As I watched the Olympics the forces from the nether world moved me.
I opened the tea lights and much to my surprise there was no circuit.
Sorry Terra, they are most certainly too orange, but that's my budget. They flicker fairly slow and realistic for outside, which is where they are headed.
I used the soldering iron to melt the solder holding it together. Now I had 6 leds that flicker. I drilled a hole in the bottom of each cup of the candelabra and through the wax drip flower looking part.
I used schedule 40 gray pvc left over from the hearse wagon wheels as the candles. I used the lid that holds the battery in the tea light as the top of the candles, drilled a hole big enough for the wire.
I soldered the zip wire to the leds, connected them, after making sure I had the the + to + and the - to - . I dug out and old cell phone charger that was 3 volts, @ 600 MA and wired it up.
Thanks to Otaku for the wall wart idea, instead of batteries.
Thanks to Terra for her extensive and exhaustive review of LED's that made my Toyota shoot out of control to the Big Lots..
Now to wait for warm weather when I can paint, then use hot glue to make the drips.

Your candelabras look great! I think the orange light looks good in that setting.
    Great job!

I have seen those at Big Lots myself.
How long do you think those will last on the supplied batteries?

I left the original batteries on overnight before I switched them over to a wall wart. The batteries lasted over 10 hours and were still going.

Sorry, have to wait for warm weather to spray paint, otherwise the CEO & CFO & Home EPA will shut me down so fast it will blow those led candles out!
