Hello All... this year decided to lease a commercial building for a haunt, but, have some questions if anyone can help.

    * I need to be able to drill my studs into the concrete floor, but, considered using glue maybe ligher weight liquid nails... looking for ways to fasten my walls to the ground without damaging the floor.

    * I know having fog on the ground or walk way can be a no no I suppose as long as the walkway is somewhat visible. What if there's absolutely nothing to trip over ? Insurance question...

    * How do the fire exits have to work, the building will have piping ...etc but, I suppose it's only to sugguestion how many emergency exit in the haunt itself need to be present and this is to exit the haunt in the building (not building), I figured to design a + cross hallway in middle of haunt for easy exiting.... haunt are unusual in this aspect.

    * What should I watch out for in signing commercial lease, that should be included...etc?

    * Is camera and monitoring equiment required by law or just cya?

    * When running electrical wiring thru haunt, assuming an inspection will be required? I figured on running a subpanel from main like 4x 20amp circuits if possible, it would be temporary of course. And use MX wire in metel jacket... wondering though if I glue my walls down and support with top beams if be out of code... sticky situation, might req wall to be secured into ground..dunno.

    * I'm trying to model my sign for the outside building... maybe using blacklight, miniprojectors onto white based letters... think I'll do minature models 6" first then do the 3fter's, just wondering if any cool ideas of illumating my sign, brighter the better I figure but something cool and attracting and big.

    * lastly, is there anyway in the forums here to export the content of specific thread for printing, going thru all the pages is time consuming always thought it would be nice to crunch down, export resize and print for good BR reading material jk! ...be a nice function though. Print entire tread in resized format automatically...

Glad to be part of this group, been really inspiring !

I would strongly suggest taking some time to go over to the village/town/city hall and get to know the building and zoning department then head over to the engineering department.

Making friends early will give you some leeway later on down the line. You will have to follow the city's rules but most towns will work with you as they want you to succeed so they can see more taxes coming in (not to mention that it's their job!). There will be a lot of hoops to jump through but by the end you'll be an expert and every following year will be a breeze.

I work in an engineering and construction firm and we deal with around 30 different cities and each can have their own set of rules. But again, almost all the city people I talk to are more than happy to help and offer suggestions. They should also have a list of reliable companies in the area.

gl and let us know how it goes!
