I am interested in adding a jail scene into next years Garage Haunt.

Here is an example: Video of moving jail bars

    How is this done:
    • Bungee Cords?
    • PVC pipe?
    • Rope?

Let me know what your experience or thoughts are on how to make this work.
    Thanks
    -Scott

I used 1/2 pvc for the bars and 3/4 or 1 inch 4 way at the top so the bars slide through the 4 way. Let the 1/2 pvc stick up 18 inches past the top so when they get pulled apart they have enough play.

When I saw this, here was the senario:
    • Blacked out jail cell, then a light comes on from the top illuminating the actor in the back. He acts all wierd then picks up a bar holds it perpendicular to the jail bars.
    • Runs fast toward the bars slamming into them LOUDLY to show they are real.
    • People back up and now trust the bars are solid.
    • As people let their guard down, he now exits the cell chasing them down the hall.
I loved it and want to add this to my torture chamber haunted garage

maybe the outer bars are real but the ones towards the middle are moveable. So when he runs at the bars holding the bar horizontally it hits the outer solid bars and makes it appear that they are ALL solid.

Yes the outer bars are real, I knew that part.
Was just wondering the material of the fake bars.
I'm liking the garden hose idea

maybe wrap the garden hose with duct tape....1002 uses for duct tape LOL
