Hey all. This is kind of an odd question but I have a mini fridge that just died on me. I COULD just trash it....but that seems like a waste. Does any one have any ideas of what I could do with it or salvage parts out of it to use prop wise?

Figured I'd ask before letting it get away. I know nothing about electronics but maybe there's some components I could tear out to mess with? Who knows.

Any ways thanks for any suggestions or ideas!

As a prop is could simply be a bloody parts locker. And in the least cash in the copper coils. Last time I sold copper I got 3.00 a pound, and walked away with over 600.00 in my pocket.

What has happened that it don't work? The fan stop blowing? Stopped cooling?

If it's not the compressor (you should hear a hum) it would make a fantastic fog chiller.

Heck it may only need a charge and will continue to work fine.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.

Even if it can't be revived, it could be laid on its back and still used as a fog chiller (fill it with ice or maybe even dry ice).

Good idea on the copper, actually I'm taking metalsmithing right now so I may be able to use it there, I'll have to look into it. As for it's untimely demise, I think I may have upset it with the ice pick freezer defrosting method. At any rate it's now out in the rain so I've accepted there's no reviving it as a fridge.

Fog chillers a good plan as well, hadn't even though of it. See! That's why I ask you guys.

Thanks for your help, simple as it may seem, it DID help
