Hi all, I could use your advice on a latex mask. I bought a costume set that was a "Tux & Tails" and a latex mask of "The Crypt Keeper" I wanted the Tux for a prop I am making (Grimsbee the ghoulish butler) and the mask I will use one day for yet another prop .

The thing is, the latex mask of The Crypt Keeper had been packed away by the manufacture for so long....it has bends and creases that detract from the look of the mask. The latex is not stuck together or sticky at all, just creased. Bad.

How can I relax or smooth out the creased, bent places ? My purchase was really for the Tux part of the costume , but The mask is cool and I'd like to use it too.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

    Hey Mark,
In my experience most of the time the creases will eventuality work out on their own... but I'm not the most patient guy ever so I've sped up the process by soaked masks in hot (not boiling) just hot tab water for a few minuets and worked them a bit around the creased areas and had them come out looking a lot better. I'm sure you could stream it or something too, but I've never tried that, just be careful not to get it too hot, I'm sure that's not good for latex!
Hope this helps and good luck on your projects!

Hey, Thanks....warm water, yes that sounds good. This mask must have been sitting in some storage house for awhile.

    Thanks for the response !
