I'm thinking of creating a talking pumpkin face for my Light-O-Rama Halloween Display but I am a bit curious of the programming done in the LOR Sequence Editor.
If anybody has any LOR files that contain these faces, then could you please send them to me? Or if you have any behind-the-scenes pictures that show the frame of the face that would be great!
Hey buckrduck, could you possibly share those pictures with us please so we can get some ideas and Calloween - how do I download the LOR files from the link you sent me, I can open the audio files with no problem but when I click Download File (LOR) it comes up as just text.
This is a video of Thriller that my son shot last year. YouTube - The Singing Pumpkin
The face is about 10 foot square. I made the frame out of 3/4 pvc and ised plastic webbing from H.D. to support the rope lights. The eyes have 40 red LED exit sign bulbs that I picked up at the local Habitat store. I will be programing some other songs soon. I uploaded a few here Light-O-Rama Sequences.com - User New Submissions S2.
Don
Nice work Don....do you have any daylight pictures? Did you cut your rope light to size or did you just blackout the sections you weren't going to use?

I cut the rope light in three foot lengths and used black heatshrink to get to the size I needed. I had it above my garage for Halloween.
THANKS!!! THAT's the kind of picture I've been looking for and gives me a good idea of what I need to do. Where did you get your rope light? I have a ton of orange rope lights from BigLots but don't know if they can be cut shorter. Also, how many channels did you use on it?

Try this, it is This is Halloween (Marylin Manson), the music is not attached.
The pumpkin is set up for 7 channels . There is also an 8 blow mold pumpkin chorus.
I tried to go to the page and it does not exist. Can you repost the LOR files somewhere? I am working on this right now and need an example if possible.
I find it easiest to plan your own face. It is time consuming to put together the sequence file, but since I have sequenced a 20 minute Christmas display each year for the past 3 years, I am getting better at the sequencing. This way you don't have to try and figure out which mouth shape matches which channel, and allows you the opportunity to design the face however you want it, and use whatever MP3's you want. Im gonna do "thriller" next year!
