I would like to put groups of three single candles to hang in mid air. I am thinking about at least 10 groups, to get the affect. I will use the pvc and the glue for wax (for the candles). I will use one little flickering candle in each. Is there a special way that , this has been done? I was going to use fish line and hang each from ceiling. I would have to wrap (fish line) around top of each of the little lights. To keep them straight? More or easier ideas would be great. Thank You

I did this for my kid's Harry Potter party. I popped the flame off the candle, drilled a small hole in top, then fed fishing line through it and tied a large knot on end. When the string is pulled back up the knot won't fit through hole. hot glue flame back on and your done. It will hang straight since there is only one line.

both ways will work. It will depend on sizes of candles I make. Thank You!

I made a floating lantern in our graveyard this past year that moved and bobbed around in a random pattern. It got lots of compliments and gave a creepy feel in the graveyard. If interested I can give a part list and how to if you want to make them look like they float.
One thing I found is that is that the PVC candles, although look realistic, only show light from the top because the PVC blocks the small amount of light the led candles puts out. If the candles are going to be a distance from the guests a Funoodle candle looks better because they glow like a real candle.

I like the fishing line idea! I really curious how you make it look like it's floating around Dungeon Keeper

Has anyone tried attaching three candles to an FCG type mechanism for animation?

It sounds like a great idea for my crank ghost. I need a counter weight anyway for mine!

I don't know if they were glowing candles or not though.
