I ran across a listing for bags and bags of foam scraps on craigslist today, and figured there had to be a great prop that could be made out of it. Unfortunately I'm just not creative enough to figure out what it is! Do you have any ideas or suggestions on what I could use this foam for? I need to have a plan for it before I pick it up. Keeps peace in the house.

Lots of little detail pieces, you could start carving them up and make a mad scientist wall. You would be amazed at the things you can make out of scraps.

You can use it around an "armature" to make volume for a body, corpse, zombie, creature, whatever... Just an example...
(if that is soft foam, that's it!)

Depends on the type of foam. I use the soft flexible recycled plastic bag type (not sure what it's made of LOL).

It was formed PC packing foam from several that came in to the job. I walked off with several boxes full of it.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.

this appers to be foam used for seats so its a spongy type foam it could be sculpted and used Styrofoam heads to shape features , I used to design Mascots and we used this type of foam to create features on the mascot heads , Other than that the I agree with Ramiel with gluing it to armature or that type of thing once you have the pieces glued you could sculpt the arm ino the shape desired, This foam can be attached with contact cement ot both surfaces or togeter to itself.

Thanks everyone for taking time to share ideas. Unfortunately nothing grabbed me as a "must do" project so I'm going to pass on picking up the free foam. Now if I can find a free sliding glass door to build a peppers ghost, I'll be in business!
