Thats teh big question i have after seeing chocolate molded that way.
They had corn starch in a box and pressed a shape into it. then they put chocolate into it, let it harden and it came out.
Anyone think this might work for latex? I might try it and see what happens but thought i would ask first.

If you're going to try putting latex into a mold, in this case using corn starch, you might want to just use a more reliable method. Of course, you might be able to use a release agent for the corn starch. If you do some searches on molding you'll find plenty of tutorials. You can search YouTube for mask making, lifecasting, etc; for plenty of videos on methods of casting. Also, you might want to check out The FX Lab

You're probably setting yourself up for failure. I've ocassionally seen corn starch used as a mold release (a material used to keep the casting material from sticking to the mold). But not as a mold material for latex.
There are a number of videos and tutorials available on the web and a book I'm particularry fond of is Thurston James- The Prop Builder's Molding and Casting Handbook --ISBN 1-55870-128-1

If you explain what you are trying to do, tips could be offered for your specific project.

Seems to me that the latex will stick like crazy to the cornstarch, thus losing any detail. Underneath the layer of cornstarch is the latex cast you are looking for, but getting the cornstarch off the dried latex casting might prove to be a challenge, if not downright impossible.
Using a release agent on cornstarch will just clump up the cornstarch. I would use plaster, hydrocal or Ultracal-30. It's cheap, and works alot better.Your resident Proptologist.
