Where can I get some cheap but good solenoids? I'm thinking about doing a couple pop up props this year.

A lot of people use solenoids from washing machines, dishwasher or fridgerators with ice makers, the're used for water but work fine with air, however they are only a two way valve (on/off) so you'll have to have a leak off inorder for it close.

There are several tutorials on here and the other sites that tell you how to use these types of valves check out the search function here. and Monsterlist.com or hauntprojects.com

Of course there is e-bay if you want to take the time and effort to go through the bidding process. Look for a 3 way valve

I get most of my valves now from Monster Guts they have exactly what you need at a reasonable price for a new valve, no making a repurposed valve work and no taking chances on what you might get through an auction. Plus Dean is great with his customer support. Check out the review section there is a thread on them

EbaY is an excellent source for cylinders and solenoids/valves. I know places here in Canada but i don't think they would be much help to you in the U.S.
