I picked up a pair of these 6" red sphere lights on sale after Christmas and now I am looking for some good ideas on how to incorporate these into my haunted pirate display. Each has 100 mini lights with a 4' cord.

I'm thinking of making them into will-o'-the-wisps that would pulsate or flicker close to the ground in the shadows. I would also like to see if I can add some slow vertical movement, perhaps with an FCG motor.

Any other ideas on how to use these sphere lights in a yard haunt?

You could make a huge cardboard skull and these could be the eyes.

Or get a red LED stringer and make an outline of a devil head. Then use these as eyes.

How about treating them like glowing cannonballs? It would be cool to have a skeleton holding one of these red spheres in front of a cannon like he's about it drop it into the muzzle, with another skeleton standing by with a ramrod to ram the sphere home.

    Some great ideas so far.

I have four "firing" cannons with sound fx pointed across the street, so maybe my neighbor across the street would be kind enough to let me place the spheres in her yard so they would light up with a two-second delay after the cannon fire!

    Nice effect!
Though a fired cannonball would probably be a bit faster than a snowball.
I like your version of the sphere light.

I can speed up the animation quite a bit actually. I just looked at the program It looks like at least 5 times faster
I might have to add cannons this year
