Here's a clip of the animated/motorized organ foot pedals I made for the grim organist this year. Used the old reliable wiper motor, and a 5 V power supply from Monster Guts. The crank shaft is made from 3/8" threaded rod and simpson strong ties, I used jam nuts to hold it together, double nuted on the connecting rods to allow for rotation, an eye bolt is on the bottom of the pedal with a regular mach bolt and locking nut. Boots from Goodwill.

Excellent work! We are hoping to give our salvaged organ new life this summer with a few moving aspects. At first - we could only imagine a static prop with the skelly sitting in front and lights and sound. Now - thanks to the Forum - we have new ideas!! Your pedals are now on the list too! Do you have any tutorial on how you put the mechanism together? Looks just outstanding (or sitting as the case may be! LOL)

That's a really nice mechanism you built, scareisburg! The movement is very realistic.
Great engineering job on the cranks, too!
